Human Resource management
(undergraduate)
Course Objective
This objective of this course is to introduce and help students learn, and apply principles of modern Human Resource Management (HRM) policies and practices. This course focuses on the ways in which effective HRM can improve firm performance. As a result this course is based on cutting edge theory, empirical research, organizational practices and in class discussions with industry leaders (in person and via Skype/FaceTime). Learning to apply the principles of HRM is critical to student success in this course. This course is taught from the perspective of the general manager as opposed to an HRM specialist. As a result this course focuses on the ways in which HRM practices can support (or undermine) organizational goals and objectives.
